Butterfly Garden

Attracting Butterfly's to your garden is not as easy as it sounds...it takes careful research and planning.

In order to attract butterfly's to your garden first you need to find out what types of plants the butterfly's in your region feed on, and what types of plants they're larva / Caterpillars will feed on because this is where the butterfly's will lay their eggs, and the caterpillars will eat these plants.

An example of a plant that attract butterfly's is Milkweed for Monarch Butterfly's of course each species of butterfly is going to feed on different plants.

Even though attracting these butterfly's to your garden can be a lot of work it's worth the time to add this living element to your garden.

To learn more about butterflies join garden clubs and natural history organizations, especially insect and native plant groups. A lot information can be obtained from active participation in these groups. Members can show you how to rear butterflies or propagate butterfly food plants.
